1872
British administration begins
The history of the regional mines spans centuries. Formal British control begins in 1872, and Dr H. Warth, the first British Chief Mining Engineer, modernises operations with systematic engineering.
1924
Our family takes up the seam
The Kalabagh workings pass into the hands of the local custodians who have mined them ever since. This is the year we count from.
1947
Rights confirmed to local custodians
After the British departure, the Government of Pakistan grants the local custodians exclusive legal rights to mine at Kalabagh and the surrounding region.
Today
AL ABBAS TRADER PVT LTD
As direct descendants of those custodians we hold the rights, run the mine, and export under our own name.
The custodians
AL ABBAS TRADER PVT LTD
When the British departed in 1947, the Government of Pakistan entrusted the local people with custody of the mines and granted them exclusive legal rights to mine in Kalabagh and the surrounding regions.
We are direct descendants of those custodians. Today we operate our Kalabagh mines under the name AL ABBAS TRADER PVT LTD, and export under the VORA HIMALAYAN SALT brand.
